| Surviving with your family Imagine you have to live with your family in the wild. Which environment would you live: desert, forest, island, jungle, fields, mountains, anywhere! What kind of shelter would you make? What is the weather like? What things would you take with you? What are important things you need to live in the wild? What jobs would your family have? Would you hunt for food or gather fruits and vegetables? What are you scared of there? Example: I would live in the jungle with my family. I would take matches and a warm blanket to the jungle, then I would build a big treehouse, so I can stay off of the ground. My father would hunt animals with a bow and knife and my mother would gather mushrooms and vegetables from around the jungle. I would work on making a dam to catch fish in the river, and my sister would cook water and gather wood for the fire. There are snakes and monkeys around the treehouse, but we will keep adding to the house to protect ourselves. It rains a lot, so we have to build a fire to stay warm. I have to kill snakes sometimes, but my family is here with me, so I know that I will be okay. I think that living in the jungle is difficult, but I really enjoy the challenge. I hope that my family and I can stay here forever and build many more treehouses when we get older! |
